Welcome from Responsible Pet Care Shelter & Adoption

Mission Statement – “To Improve Quality of Life & Promote the Responsible Way to Treat All Pets.”

Responsible Pet Care Shelter & Adoption provides a compassionate, loving environment for homeless felines and canines while they await new, forever homes. We have agreements with many area towns to accept strays and when space allows, we accept owner surrenders and reach out to other agencies to bring in others. It is our intention and mission, that our spaces are always in use so that we may save as many lives as possible.

We are partnered with the following, whom we accept homeless canines from when there are no local ones to fill our available spaces.

Defensa Animal de Rincon – Puerto Rico

Animal Rescue Foundation or ARF – Puerto Rico

Villalobos Rescue Center – New Orleans, LA

Butts Mutts – Butts County, GA

Paws of Dale Hollow – Byrd, Tennessee

We appreciate you considering our shelter to adopt your next pet. We have many wonderful animals. We are careful in placing our animals and check references. Survey’s rate our adoption experience very high, and your relationship with us doesn’t end with the adoption; we are glad to answer questions or discuss any issues or concerns that you might have

Medical Fund

The “RPC” medical fund is not only used for routine animal care and medical expenses; spay/neuter, vaccinations, worming, flea treatments, parasite testing to name a few, it is also used for major injuries and medical costs. We many times reach out with a specific need for a specific animal that exceeds what we feel we can draw from our medical fund as a financially struggling shelter. We are grateful for your compassionate support of these medical needs and the donations received into our medical fund. They are crucial for us to do our work humanely and it does mean so much to the animals.

Please consider making a donation by using the PayPal button on this page or by sending a check to P. O. Box 82, Norway ME 04268. If you send funds to support a certain medical need, we are happy to keep you posted on the progress of that special canine or feline! Also, remember your donation may be tax deductible.

Thank you so much for your compassionate support.
