...Responsible Pet Care Mission Statement

Fun Dog Day

Fun Dog Day raises awareness of the 700+ homeless dogs and cats Responsible Pet Care serves yearly, and in particular celebrates dogs.

Events include a sponsored dog walk, a dog show with categories that allow each and every dog participating to shine, games with dogs, prizes, a water park for dogs (a huge hit); and amazing demonstrations by working dogs and their handlers. There is a small food court, vendors/crafters with wonderful items to sell, a children's craft area, and many educational booths. Folks come to spend a laid back, pleasant day with dogs and dog lovers.

Proceeds from Fun Dog Day go toward specific needs at the shelter.

We invite you to participate. Whether you choose to walk with your dog, participate in some of the events, sponsor an event, set-up a vendor's/crafter's table, or just enjoy the day with your family, you will be supporting this event that is so financially important to Responsible Pet Care.

Fun Dog Day Walk/Polker Walk

The Fun Dog Day Walk is the kick-off event of the day. Participants can walk as individuals, or with a team. Walking with a dog is not required. The walk route is an easy half-mile. This year we have added a Polker Walk for $10 per hand for anyone 18 years old or over that wishes to participate. Purchase one hand or as many as you want. Cash prize for the highest hand. Raise money through pledges and sponsorships by friends and family to be the highest raiser and walk away with a gift basket. The pledge form and instructions for the walk can be downloaded here.
